A New Way of Life’s founder, Susan Burton, was honored by NBC News, and selected as one of 10 extraordinary Americans making a positive difference in the world around them.
As part of their “Inspiring America: The 2023 Inspiration List,” Ms. Burton received the title: “The Invincible,” for her dedicated work in helping thousands of returning citizens receive hope for a better life during, and upon release from, incarceration.
Her unforgettable 2017 memoir, Becoming Ms. Burton: From Prison to Recovery to Leading the Fight for Incarcerated Women, continues to be a sought-after and highly recommended read.
Along with A New Way of Life, she launched the SAFE Housing Network and is co-founder of All of Us or None (AOUON) and the Formerly Incarcerated & Convicted People’s Movement (FICPM).
