The vision at Pillar of Fire Church San Diego is to be a Multi-Ethnic Church that is Christ-centered in bringing fresh hope to everyone especially the outcast of society by providing a space to hear the word of God.
“Opening a church is not easy,” says Pastor Daniel Gonzales. It is groundbreaking and costs a lot of tears, sacrifice, and sweat, but Pastor Gonzales wouldn’t give it up for the world.

Daniel Gonzales is the Lead Pastor of Pillar of Fire Church located in south San Diego, California. Built upon faith and hard work, Pillar of Fire Church was founded by a small group of men who have received seminary training through The Urban Ministry Institute (TUMI) program inside of prisons, made possible by the financial funding of Serving USA and delivered inside of prison by volunteers trained and supported by Prison Fellowship. The purpose of providing TUMI inside prisons is to build up Christian men and women and prepare them for leadership roles.
They are then able to effectively serve the Lord and their community, wherever they find themselves to be. This vision is exactly what Pastor Gonzales has brought to life in
San Diego.

Just a few short years ago Pillar of Fire Church was founded and began reaching out to the community where the church is located, a community that is mostly hard-working people and elderly residents. Recently Pillar of Fire Church held an event called “Harvest the Neighborhood for Jesus,” providing a safe and faith-based opportunity for the neighborhood families to congregate together and enjoy good food, music, and a message of hope during the Halloween season. The community turned out in great numbers and many new introductions were made with the hope of bringing these people into the Pillar of Fire Church.
Welcoming new members and visitors is essential for the growth of a church,
and it is through the faithful dedication to Jesus Christ and his Truth that people come to decide if a church is their “Home Church.”
Pillar of Fire Church has become home for many persons and families, and this week it arose that Pillar of Fire has an opportunity to submit an offer to purchase the building and property where the church is located. This opportunity is a decision that has been covered in prayer, seeking advice from experienced Christians, and of course, there has been the absolute faith that needed finances will be provided.
As the Pillar of Fire Church moves forward in the process of owning the church building and property, consider praying for Pastor Daniel Gonzales, his wonderful wife Pamela, and his church team.

Serving USA is excited to witness this church’s founding and growth and for the opportunity to watch TUMI students and graduates succeed in their goals of reaching the forgotten and strengthening the community.
Serving USA also partners with Pillar of Fire Church by providing support to their faith-based programming both inside of RJ Donovan State Prison and in the community as they provide reentry services for the previously incarcerated.
Pillar of Fire Church appreciates your prayers and financial support.
