Making a Difference for Women Veterans

A lady army veteran.

The Foundation for Women Warriors (FFWW) aims to empower women veterans by providing the essential support they need to thrive in civilian life. FFWW understands the unique challenges faced by women who have served our country, and this organization is dedicated to offering comprehensive assistance that helps them move forward, achieve success, and provide a stable future for their children. Emergency financial aid, childcare support, valuable resources, essential goods, helpful referrals, and opportunities for professional development—these are just a few ways they’re giving back to these amazing heroes who have served, and continue to serve, our country.

Emergency Financial Assistance

FFWW provides short-term, high-impact financial assistance to prevent homelessness and ensure women veterans can maintain their housing and employment. The program is designed to offer immediate relief during times of financial crisis, covering essential expenses such as rent, utilities, and other urgent bills. By addressing these critical needs, the organization helps women veterans avoid the devastating consequences of homelessness and financial instability.

Their goal is to provide a safety net that allows these women to focus on their careers and personal development without the looming threat of losing their homes. With the support system of FFWW, women veterans can achieve stability and build a foundation for a better future.

Childcare Stipends for Students and Mothers

Foundation for Women Warriors provides childcare stipends to student or working mothers, allowing them to place their children in trusted and enriching care with any licensed childcare provider of their choosing. This financial support helps alleviate the burden of childcare costs, enabling mothers to focus on their studies or careers without worry. Additionally, FFWW offers stipends for summer, spring break, and winter break camps for children of veterans in grades 1 through 6, ensuring that their care is uninterrupted during breaks in their school schedule. These camps not only provide a safe environment but also offer educational and recreational activities that contribute to the children's overall development. FFWW’s goal is to support women veterans by making sure their children receive quality care and enriching experiences year-round. Through this assistance, the organization strives to create a stable and supportive environment for both mothers and their children.

Resources and Referrals

The Warrior Connect program provides necessary information, resources, and referrals that are geographically desirable and address a variety of needs for our female veterans. The Foundation understands that each veteran’s situation is unique, which is why they tailor support to meet individual needs, whether it’s finding housing, securing employment, accessing healthcare, or obtaining legal assistance. By leveraging deep connections with hundreds of partners locally and nationwide, Foundation for Women Warriors provides real-time triage of the many issues that face our women veterans, without duplicating efforts.

This collaborative approach ensures that veterans receive the most efficient and effective assistance available. The organization continuously updates their resource database to reflect the latest services and opportunities, ensuring that veterans have access to the best possible support. Their commitment is to empower women veterans to overcome challenges and achieve their personal and professional goals. Through the Warrior Connect program, FFWW strives to create a strong, supportive network that women veterans can rely on during times of need.

Professional Development

Women Veterans Lead provides personal, professional, and leadership development education both in-person and online for women veterans nationwide. This comprehensive program improves the resilience and self-sufficiency of women veterans, equipping them to provide stability and success for themselves, their families, and their communities. Female veterans can complete education at their own pace and apply to attend workshops in annual cohorts, allowing for flexible learning that fits their schedules. Veterans are also given additional opportunities for continued mentorship and community service projects so that personal, professional, and leadership improvements continue beyond the curriculum.

This ongoing support ensures that the skills and knowledge gained are reinforced and expanded over time. By fostering a strong network of peers and mentors, Women Veterans Lead helps build a lasting foundation for success. The ultimate goal is to empower women veterans to become influential leaders in their communities and beyond.

Foundation for Women Warriors collects and distributes cost-reducing critical goods to military women and women veteran families. By providing essential housing and baby items such as cribs, car seats, diapers, wipes, and formula, FFWW enables families to reallocate their earnings towards housing and utilities. This support helps alleviate financial burdens, ensuring that families can focus on maintaining a stable and secure home environment. Through the Essential Goods Warehouse, they strive to meet the immediate needs of the community, allowing them to thrive and build a better future.
